The ski resort of Les Gets is known for its wide, fir lined pistes and rolling terrain, with runs to suit all levels of skier. The Chamois D’Or is located just 250m from the pistes, giving quick and easy access to the slopes.
Les Gets boasts 120km of extremely well groomed pistes, 48 lifts, many wonderful restaurants and great coffee stops around the resort and on the pistes. The extent of the tree cover makes for great definition on snowy days. If you are ready to explore further, then the Portes du Soleil offers a unique ski safari experience of over 650kms, across 12 linked resorts on both sides of the French-Swiss border, offering a vast expanse of skiing.

How long does it take to get to the Chamois D’Or?
It takes one hour by car to get from Geneva airport to Les Gets resort. We can help to arrange a transfer from the airport for you.
Where are you situated in the town of Les Gets?
The hotel is located close to the centre of Les Gets on a quieter stretch of the Rue du Centre that runs through the middle of the town.
Do you have parking at the hotel?
We have several parking spaces directly outside the hotel for the sole use of our guests. Let us know if you would like us to reserve a space for you. There is secure, underground parking located at the Chavannes gondola.
Does the hotel have wifi and can I use it in my room?
Yes, there is wifi throughout the hotel and you will be able to access it from your bedroom.
How close are the slopes and the nearest uplift?
The nearest uplift is just 250m from our front door. It will take you five minutes to get there on foot. From there, the Chavannes gondola and chairlift will give you access to Les Gets’ and Morzine’s pistes in winter and bike trails in summer. You will be able to ski down to this area at the end of the day.
What do we do about lift passes and where do we get all the equipment that we need?
New for this year: We can now issue passes in the hotel (at no extra charge). Just ask at reception when you get here, or order them in advance as part of your booking and they’ll be ready for you when you arrive.
We have a partnership with Sport 2000 (located right next to the slopes). They are able to take bookings for all ski and snowboard equipment, contact us to arrange this for you. You will be able to leave equipment there at the end of the day.

What should we do about ski lessons?
We work with the best British and international ski schools and guides in resort. Just let us know what you are looking for and can help you to organize it. We advise that you arrange this well in advance of your arrival in Les Gets, as lessons can book up quickly – especially during the school holidays.
Is the hotel child friendly?
Children are always welcome here and we will do our best to ensure little ones are comfortable and amused throughout their stay. We can provide cots and highchairs for young children, and push chairs can be rented on arrival in Les Gets from several sport shops. All our guests have access to a selection of games, toys and DVDs, and our chefs are happy to adapt the restaurant and bar menus to suit young palates too!
Can you organize childcare?
Yes, we can help to arrange childcare with one of a number of specialist British nanny companies or organize a space for your child at Les Gets’ Les Fripouilles nursery or the Club de P’tit Montagnys childcare with introductory ski lessons.
Can we access other resorts in the Portes du Soleil easily?
From Les Gets it is very easy to access all of the terrain that Morzine has to offer by simply skiing or riding into the resort from the top of Les Gets. From here you can take a short walk or bus to the lifts giving access to Avoriaz and all French and Swiss resorts beyond. We operate a pick up service if you find yourself unable to get back to Les Gets after a day exploring other resorts, get in touch for more details.
I’m not the outdoorsy active type… Is Les Gets really the place for me?
Of course Les Gets is well suited to adventure seekers, but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday we are certain you will find that here too by enjoying the delights of the Les Gets Luxury Spa situated in our hotel and basking in the comforts of your boutique bedroom. In the summer you can get some light exercise with a swim in the lake or an easy walk on numerous gentle trails, put your feet up in the sunshine and reap the benefits of alpine fresh air. Throughout the winter you can take a swift gondola ride to enjoy the magnificent views or stroll through the twinkling, snow covered streets and discover a great selection of shops, restaurants and bars for all your retail and party needs.
What currency should I bring?
All of France operates using the Euro. If you travel to the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil, most shops, cafes and restaurants will accept Euros as payment; however expect to receive your change in Swiss Francs.
When can I arrive and what time is check out?
You can check in time any time after 3pm. We ask guests to check out before 10am on the day of departure. However, we will always try to accommodate late check out times and early arrivals if possible at no extra charge.
Medical information
There is a doctor’s surgery in Les Gets that is open all day, every day. They often have English speaking patients, so there is not usually a problem getting the correct help. The nearest hospital is in Cluses, just a 30-minute drive from town.
